Hello Wonderful  Music Together Families!

Yes, we will be offering Music Together of Newport County program for the Fall

We hope you will join us for this season of Music Together!
http://www.musictogethernewport.com/

For full details,
Please read full email below and please respond with this quick Survey of your fall plans
---------------------
Hello Families!

We hope that you have been well and healthy during these very challenging times.
We ask for your grace and patience with us as we've been following along with current events,

and making adjustments to our plans for the upcoming semester of Music Together.
We know that many of you are curious about what's happening next...

Originally back in spring
we were imagining
that everything would be clear and ready to get started up in-person again in the fall -
It was hard then to fully comprehend what the Coronavirus / COVID-19 would mean for groups and gatherings over this span of time. Unfortunately, as the weeks and months now have passed, we see how this pandemic continues to be difficult. These times are unprecedented with changes and challenges still ongoing every month.

With the continually shifting tides around us, looking for the best way to proceed safely for all,
we've needed some time to again contemplate and think about how to best proceed this fall
for our Music Together of Newport County classes.
During this time, in the midst of considering all the complexities of how to safely handle group experiences,
we see that there is still the need to be careful with singing and music in group situations.
With so much still unpredictable and unknown about how the virus affects children and families,
after much consideration, we are making the decision,
for everyone's health and safety, to pause our regular in-person family class experiences at this time.

With that in mind, we still hold our goal:
to continue to keep this special musical community afloat through these challenging times
and to keep music-making alive for our families -

So, we have again figured out a way to keep the music humming again,
for the Fall 2020 semester, with the BONGOS Song collection.

Continuing to be dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic, we continue with Music Together, this Fall,
Continuing with . . .  Music Together Online: at Home!

Music Together Online: at Home is a package of virtual music experiences and resources
that creates a comprehensive music learning program with the high quality you're used to in the Music Together program. (more details below)

Will you join us? We'd love to have you with us!

Despite the challenges of our times, we again remain committed to the mission of Music Together,
providing this meaningful early childhood music curriculum to our families.
We also remain committed to being active participants in our community,
and to fostering deep connection and social ties between parents and children, and amongst families too.
We gained experience and learned a lot together during the spring season about how to go into this new way of making music together -
with the challenges and also the blessings of doing the classes remotely -
and We believe we can continue to create these experiences
even in the midst of social/physical limitations and challenges,
figuring creative ways of staying involved and connected.

Most importantly, we want to offer these experiences, with a sense of play and curiosity,
and a link to some sense of regular enjoyment,
for you and your children, during a time that is far ordinary.

For that purpose, we again enter “Music Together Online: at Home”
to bring the joy of family music right into your homes via the internet and with your participation!
Please read on for more information…

Special Adjustments for FALL2020 Tuition:

We are always committed to providing you and your family an enjoyable and educational program with Music Together of Newport County. And we feel strongly that the value and integrity of our program remains high, even as we make this necessary move to this new version.  Again, we'll be pouring in lots of time and energy to create these memorable and musical experiences for everyone!

But knowing that these are extraordinary times, and that many people are experiencing economic challenges during this uncertain time (including us) - we want to help out our families by offering a range of tuition options for the Music Together Online program this spring.

Instead of the regular tuition of $165,  the FALL 2020 tuition will be discounted
bringing the fees down to $130 ($125 by August 31st) for the semester, which still includes all the regular music and resources from Music Together.

Also, there will be NO SIBLING FEES for any additional siblings in this format,
so the whole family is invited to participate for sure!

Contributions and Donations
For those families who want to and are able to give back to the program and our community,
you have another choice: you have the option to stay with the regular amount for tuition and materials = $165 (which is $160 early/priority for continuing families by August 31st) and/or any applicable sibling fees, as an offering for ongoing support for our music program. Your generous contribution with that simple step will help other families and will help our Music Together of Newport County keep afloat during these difficult times.

Arts programs, schools and community organizations around the region are working hard to keep their programs going forward through this difficult time.  And so are we!
With Music Together of Newport County we want to continue creatively being of service, even for people who are laid off from work, or with other financial hardships.  So, we are creating a special "Scholarship Fund" this season for families who need extra financial support to participate in our music programs.
We will be accepting donations, with a new “Gift/Donation” button on our website to make it easier you to contribute to this scholarship fund.

And if you are experiencing financial hardship, please be in communication and we will talk about finding a way to help with payment plans, creative finances, scholarship, etc.

Next Steps: Take this Brief Survey
Especially for all of you who had been in touch earlier about Fall2020

and also helpful to hear from anyone else who has been considering continuing this season

-------

Brief Q and A:
Q: “What if things change in RI,
and what if we can resume in-person classes later on?"

A: Much remains to be seen about the way things are looking within our region and country. We would love to resume in-person classes if/when it’s more safe and clear to do so, but we are planning the entire FALL session creatively in this “remote” fashion at this point.

---

Q: “Some of my friends are looking for activities to do at home with their children,
can they still join Music Together Online this spring?”
A: Yes, while we’re focusing first on supporting our continuing/returning families: we’re certainly open to New Families too! Just send them to our website and we’ll be happy to help them sign up!
http://www.musictogethernewport.com/

More Q & A’s and info details will be updated on our website over these next weeks,
And if you have any other questions, comments, etc. please reach out!

---

Q: Sounds good! But what about Screentime? And what if my child doesn't want to watch?

A:  Please remember that while our ZOOM classes and Music Together video classes are ok for kids to watch, their primary purpose is to guide you to have fun making music with them: as in a regular class, to create a shared experience between the children and family members in the home. The real-life involvement and guidance of YOU, the grown-up is what will make the experience truly meaningful for your child.  With this, what happens on the screen is just a starting place.  Your child need not even watch directly; especially for the younger ones, you can watch and follow along and make music, while they play together with you or do their own thing in your musical-home-environment.   We can make the video sessions work for us in positive ways, especially when it facilitates human connection and creative interaction in your family, along with the audio tracks and songbooks too as part of the whole package.

Music Brings Us Together through Difficult Times
We need each other during these difficult times.
Music can ease our stress, lift our hearts, and inspire hope.
We encourage you to think of this online offering as a way to brighten your days and to connect musically with your child, your teachers and with others.  And even though we can’t be together in person,
we can still be musical, interactive and playful “together” online.
We hope you’ll choose to continue with us, in Music Together Online this season.
We miss you and cannot wait to get started back up with making Music Together with you and your family!=

With songs and smiles,
Mr. Christopher C.
